A ‘FLORAL’ WOOL SADDLE RUG
Sino-Tibetan, late 19
th
century. The finely woven saddle rug with floral decoration, surrounded by a dotted band and a border of floral scrolls and auspicious objects, all standing out prominently against the beige ground.
Condition:
With soiling, wear, faded colors, and two perforations. The backside with a small tear, otherwise good condition. The borders a later addition made from period textile.
Provenance:
German private collection, according to the current owner acquired at Bruun Rasmussen.
