A ‘FIGURAL’ BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN VASE China, 20th century. The baluster-shaped vase is painted in underglaze blue with a continuous scene depicting two scholars standing on a narrow rocky path by the riverside among trees and rockeries in the distance. The neck with geometrical and ruyi-head bands. Condition: Very good condition with only minor fritting to the foot rim. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a third-generation member of the Holzapfel family after 1995 and has remained in the family ever since.
