A LARGE IRON-RED, BLUE AND WHITE 'BATS AND CLOUDS' PORCELAIN VASE

A LARGE IRON-RED, BLUE AND WHITE 'BATS AND CLOUDS' PORCELAIN VASE China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The globular body rising from a short foot to a cylindrical neck, decorated in underglaze blue and iron-red with a continuous pattern of clouds and bats. The foot with a band of stylized scrolls below a border of crashing waves. The neck with a ring of ruyi-heads and diaper patterns below the rim. Apocryphal Kangxi reign mark to the underside. Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear. Provenance: German private collection, according to the vendor acquired at Auction House Stahl, Germany, in 2013.
