A SANCAI-GLAZED FIGURE OF A GUARDIAN LION
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Well modeled and covered overall with a brown, amber, and green glaze, depicting a guardian lion seated on its haunches with bulging eyes and a wide gaping mouth, revealing its sharp teeth and pointy tongue, wearing a tassel-hung collar around the neck, with a flaming mane, surmounted on an integrated reticulated base.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minor casting flaws.
