A FAMILLE VERTE ENAMELED PORCELAIN ‘FLORAL’ CHARGER, KANGXI

A FAMILLE VERTE ENAMELED PORCELAIN ‘FLORAL’ CHARGER, KANGXI China, 1662-1722. The rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted rim, painted in bright enamels to the interior with a central roundel enclosing flowers and lingbi and encircled by alternating medallions with various flowers and leaves, below a band with alternating diapered and floral designs, the exterior with flowers growing from leafy stems, the recessed base with an early Kangxi conch mark within a double circle. Condition: The rim with small chips and fritting, one large segment (ca. 29 cm long) has been reattached with hairlines and material filling visible, some wear to enamels, occasional light scratches, firing irregularities. Provenance: From an old family collection in Pressburg, Austrian Empire, Slovakia, and thence by descent to the present owner. Weight: 1,960 g Dimensions: Diameter 35.8 cm
