A MIDNIGHT BLUE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASE WITH A PIGEON Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) The baluster body rising from a short foot to a broad shoulder with waisted neck and everted rim, one side decorated in polychrome enamels with a pigeon perched on a blossoming cherry tree above grass blades and flowers reserved against a midnight blue ground. HEIGHT 15.2 cm WEIGHT 171.5 g Condition: Good condition with minor wear and manufacturing irregularities, expected pitting, few small hairlines, and few minuscule losses. Provenance: Viennese private collection, acquired in the local trade before 2000.
