A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE
China, 19th century. The porcelain snuff bottle of cylindrical shape with a very short and wide neck, painted in underglaze blue with a dignitary passing through a wintery landscape. The depiction of rocks and the city looming in the distance nicely rendered. Associated with a hard stone stopper of celadon green color and a bone spoon.
Condition: Good condition with some firing faults, and a small chip to the upper and to the foot rim.
Provenance: Hungarian private collection, according to the current owner acquired from a Swiss private collection.
