A WOODEN ‘RIDING ON THE RIVER’ BITONG
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Depicting a mountain and river landscape with a scholar and a child on a boat, rowing along a shore, partly hidden behind a tree. The interior of the brush pot with a wooden plate insert.
Condition: Very good condition. The wood with some hairlines, nicks, dents and surface scratches.
Provenance: German private collection, according to the current owner acquired from the collection of Dr. Henning, Hamburg.
