A LARGE PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ VASES AND COVERS China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912). The decoration features colored enamels against a blue enamel ground, showing two caparisoned elephants and scholars; the shoulders with a band of apsaras amid clouds. Both with fine reticulated floral covers and bearing a seal mark to the underside. Condition: Good condition with some wear and spare, partly filled losses to the enamels. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
