A Bronze figure of a Lama

A BRONZE FIGURE OF A LAMA Tibet, 17th to 18th century. Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus pedestal with beaded rim, holding prayers beads in his right hand, wearing a flowing robe. The benevolent face with lips pursed into a smile flanked by elongated earlobes. Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age, several nicks and dents, malachite encrustations, the base plate is a later addition. The surface with a fine smooth patina. Provenance: From a British private collection.
