AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE GU VASE
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The Chinese ritual bronze vessel with the central bulbous section adorned with finely incised taotie masks on a diapered-patterned ground and four vertical flanges, the lower section with vertical flanges as well, rising from a tall, splayed foot to the trumpet-shaped, square neck, decorated with further archaistic motifs.
Condition: Fine condition with traces of wear and age, nicks, and light scratches.
Provenance: German private collection. According to the current owner acquired in the Swedish auction market.
