Basel edition in Latin of this History of the Italian Wars since the entry of Charles VIII into the peninsula, in 1494. Woodcut letters. Doctor and historian Paolo Giovio (1483-1552), gathered in his villa on Lake Como - the Museo Giovio - an exceptional collection of portraits of great men, ancient and modern, which served as a model for the constitution of numerous galleries. The second volume alone, preserved in its beautiful period stamped sow skin binding.
