TRAVELLING CASE by E GOYARD AINÉ (from 1885) Leather, wood, metal on wheels and equipped with two handles signed "déposé Plaque on the front "E Goyard ainé 233 rue St Honoré" and side plaque stating "Paris Monte-Carlo Biarritz". Stamped on the bottom several times and iron mark on the frame Traditional chevron decoration "à la Goyard Old travel labels (golf l'hermitage, hotel Martinez...) Early 20th century 34 x 91 x 53 cm In its original condition, taken out of the attic The trunk-maker François Goyard ran his company for more than three decades and sold it in 1885 to his son Edmond who renamed it E. Goyard. When he died in 1937, the business remained in the family. This remained the case until 1998.
