Called a musician mask or a singing mask, this type of mask emitted a sound produced by bells when it was released. Inscribed in an almost perfect oval, this mask with stylized features offers an expression of great intensity. It is crowned with a wide beard made of hair and brass bells, and a cowrie shell hairdo that falls to the top of the forehead. The lower part of the face is tinted with a beautiful ochre color. Contrasting with the brown patina of the mask, this ornament evokes the facial paintings worn by women during ritual ceremonies.
