TBE. 26 X 36 cm Born in Huy in 1921 and died in 1978, Maurice Tillieux was destined for a career in the merchant navy, when the German invasion deprived him of any possibility to practice this profession. It is in the weekly magazine of complete stories HEROïc-ALBUMS, from 1947 to 1956, that Tillieux will develop his talent and will reveal himself a master of the detective story of humor and atmosphere. Nostalgia for the sea obliges, he begins with the perilous cruises of the radio operator "Bob Bang". He then composed a dozen realistic stories, often very inspired by American cartoonists, but it was with the development of the trio "Félix, Allume-Gaz and Cabarez" that he discovered his way, producing about fifty episodes in which humor, mystery and action are finely balanced. At the time of the disappearance of Heroïc-Albums, he is finally part of the stars of Dupuis with "Marc Jaguar" for the short-lived weekly Risque-Tout, the investigations of "Gil Jourdan" for Spirou and the gags of "César" for Le Moustique. Towards the end of the 60's, drawing began to weigh on him and the storyteller was awakened in him. He entrusted the graphic part of "Gil Jourdan" to Gos and turned essentially to the scenario for Francis ("La Ford T"), René Follet ("S.O.S. Bagarreur"), Arthur Piroton ("Jess Long"), Will ("Tif et Tondu"), Roba ("La Ribambelle"), Leonardo Vittorio ("Hultrasson"), Walthéry ("Natacha"), etc...
