Devos Jacques/La petite histoire des armes à feu. Original drawing illustrating the guide/guardian of museum. Work realized for the bottom of lamp of the album. Ink of China around 1974. Funny and unique collector's item. TBE+. 12 X 10 cm Jacques Devos (1924-1992) is a Belgian comics author, mainly known for the series Génial Olivier. He started in 1961 by scripting mini-stories for the newspaper Spirou. From 1962 to 1968 he wrote the scenario of Tim and Tom and the series Whamoka and Whikilowat for Louis Salvérius. He produced the script of Djinn for Kiko from 1964 to 1966. With Hubuc, he produced Alertogas and Victor Sébastopol, then took over the latter series alone from 1964. In the mini-stories, he creates himself many series, Schwartzbrot, Superherman and especially from 1963 his great successful series "Génial Olivier" which puts in scene an extravagant inventor and dunce. From 1969, the series comes out of the mini-stories to integrate the regular pages of Spirou. At the end of the 1960s, he produced two albums of Steve Pops and in 1970, he undertook a superb educational chronicle in Spirou entitled "La Petite histoire des armes à feu" and "Armes secrètes, armes farfelues". From 1969 to 1972, he drew Les Farfeluosités de Devos and Les Extra-terrestres from 1974 to 1979. From this last series, he published a long science fiction story in 1984 entitled L'Étoile Verte. The series Géniale Olivier is interrupted in Spirou in 1988 after having known seventeen albums.
