Description

Wilson Colin/La jeunesse de Blueberry. Original plate #21 from the album T6 "Le raid infernal" illustrating an action scene under the rain as well as Blueberry in the shadow. Superb execution in the rendering which illustrates wonderfully the talent of the drawer and worthy successor of Jean Giraud/Moebius. Rare. India ink and graphite. Signed and dated 1990. TBE+. 50 X 68 cm! Born in 1949 in Christchurch, New Zealand, Wilson started as a graphic designer for television, then as a motorsport photographer and freelance illustrator before devoting himself completely to comics. The opportunity came in 1980 during an extended vacation in London where he worked on the Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper series for 2000 AD magazine. In 1984, his first album Raël was published in France and two others followed. It was then that Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud asked him to draw the new episodes of La Jeunesse de Blueberry, of which he had already produced five albums. In the meantime, he drew an album of the Thunderhawks series published in 1992. Colin Wilson lives in Australia.
