Bird - Amulet, Costa Rica, Guanacaste/Nicoya, Period IV, 1-500 A.D. Green jadeite, with brown parts, openwork pendant in form of a bird (Beak bird), carved on both sides. Angular head with dotted eyes on raised base, long tapering beak, forming a circle at the end connected to the body, hole between the neck and the base of the wings, body with oblique notches symbolizing the plumage, oblique triangular lower body with leg indicated on the side. H. 9.3 cm, wooden base with wire. Provenance: Collection August Maurer, before 1986; Auction Vogler 2015, Private collection Germany.
