CÍRCULO DE CORNELIS SCHUT III ((C. 17th) / .) "Christ of humility and patience"

This painting of a Christological theme represents an iconographic type typical of the Andalusian school of painting. Jesus is depicted in a moment of solitude, prior to the crucifixion, and after having been stripped of his clothes. The analyses carried out on the work and its formal characteristics allow us to relate it to other works by Schut such as a "Christ tied to the column" in the Museo Nacional de Prado or a drawing depicting "Jesus seated to be scourged", leading to the conclusion that it may have been executed by the master himself with the help of a good collaborator in his workshop.
