LAOS Sophisticated women's ensemble including skirt, jacket and scarf. The wild silk bolero jacket features an original bare-shoulder cut and closes with five buttons on the front (45 x 38). Skirt in silk and cotton with stripes and additional weft, multicolored geometric border on the bottom (84 x 61). The fine pha bieng silk scarf features fine geometric motifs alternating with gold brocaded decoration on a light red-brown background, bangs (120 x14). The amulet in the form of an impish figure with a sloping crown and tall ears, seated cross legged with its hands folded on its lap, all raised on a tall plinth. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
