François GIRARDON (1628-1715) after Christ in patinated bronze. The still living Christ about to expire, the head turned on his right shoulder, the academic "S" silhouette shows a powerful anatomy while straightening the body. The perizonium forming a floating knot on the right hip. The cross in ebony veneer decorated with the INRI plate. Work from the end of the 18th or the beginning of the 19th century. Total height: 79 cm - Bronze height: 48 cm Our work takes the Christ in Bronze that the sculptor François Girardon (1628-1715) realized for the church Saint Rémy in Troyes. Simon Thomassin I, the King's engraver, made an engraving of this Christ on the cross in 1661, which helped the model to spread.
