Maque Gunye Ge Dan-Diomandé People Ivory Coast Wood H. 23,5 cm Provenance : Collected in situ by Mr. Begué between 1931 and 1935 Classic mask with round eyes called "race". The lateral striations confirm the attribution to the Diomandé, neighbours of the Dan in this region of the Ivory Coast, whose faces were scarified with the same motif. Beautiful black and shiny patina and trace of use inside the mask.
