Gunye Ge Mask Dan People Ivory Coast Wood H. 24 cm Provenance : Collected in situ by Mr. Begué between 1931 and 1935 Classic example of a runner's mask. The right eye and eyebrow as well as the upper left lip are slightly missing. The whole remains harmonious and balanced with a nice shiny black patina. Some traces of remaining material and pigments around the eyes. Nice carrying material inside.
