Description
Polychrome painted enamel plaque representing on two registers the Descent from the Cross and the Resurrection. Upper register: Nicodemus carries Christ framed by Mary Magdalene and the Virgin on one side, Saint Joseph of Arimathea holding the shroud and Saint John on the other. Lower register: The risen Christ, standing in front of the tomb, blessing with his right hand, surrounded by soldiers. Limoges, circa 1540. Height at sight: 15.2 cm - Width: 9.2 cm In a gilded wooden frame with invisible counter-glaze (missing mainly at the right corners and accidents)
