Bacchus and Ariadne (1823). Rectangular miniature painted on ivory, after the work of Antoine-Jean GROS of 1821 exhibited at the Salon of 1822, kept in the National Gallery of Canada. Signed and dated lower left R. Renaudin /1823 (two cracks). On wood panel in a rectangular gilded wood frame decorated with laurel wreaths and lyres. Handwritten inscription on the back Madame Renaudin / Painter of Mgr. the Dauphin / rue F. Honoré N°24 / in Paris and handwritten label Ariadne abandoned by Theseus in the island of Naxos, on a rock, is consoled by Bacchus. 20 x 23 cm - Frame : 31,5 x 34 cm
