Memorandum of trial of 1731, concerning a CHILD DEAD IN BED: "Sentence of January 26, 1731, which appoints the Sieur JORE to the proof that his Child was born alive." - From the printing office of JORE, next to the Hôtel de Monseigneur le Premier Président. (in ROUEN); 19 pp large in-folio. "The umbilical cord being already black: that the child has not uttered any cry, stirred any limb, nor given any other sign of life or breathing: that after the death of the mother, there was a dispute between those who said that the child is alive & those who said that he was dead..."

Rehabilitation memoir of one of the most famous miscarriages of justice. Joseph Lesurques, born in Douai in 1763, beheaded on October 30, 1796. After an incredible trial, he was convicted, on the basis of a simple physical resemblance, of attacking the "Courrier de Lyon" stagecoach on April 27, 1796. Ex libris.
