A Tibetan thangka of Padmasambhava. 19th/20th century Seated on a lotus blossom rising from the blue waters of the Dhanakosha lake, dressed in selected monastic garments, holding a vajra, a khatvanga and a skull cup in his hands, surrounded by his eight emanations, for example in the sky as the blue Guru Oddiyana Vajradhara embracing his consort, as a monk with a red pandita hat, in the appearance of Buddha holding an alms bowl, and at the lower corners as Guru Simhanada, very wrathful and blue in colour, and as Guru Dorje Drollo, maroon in colour riding on a tiger.
