Description
A Central Indian architectural fragment Uma Maheshvaramurti (Shiva and Parvati). 11th/12th century Shiva sits on a bench with one leg pendant and resting his foot on the recumbent Nandi, he embraces Parvati who sits on his knee, and holds a flower and a trident, around the base his sons Ganesha and Skanda sitting on a peacock and four other figures. Above Shiva and Parvati two deities and celestial beings, a flower-shaped nimbus and an inscription. H 67 cm
