IBRAHIM NUBANI is a student of Abed Abdi. He moved to Jenin in the West Bank during the second Intifada and survived the destruction of the refugee camp. Troubled by these events, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. These events have deeply disturbed him and affected his artistic work until today. A geometric painting inspired by modernism whose style gradually moves from a chaotic and saturated expression to contemporary forms.
The childish naivety translated by bright colors releasing a palpable energy accompanies the forms and the black lines. The eye looks at us without respite, a constant reminder of what reality looks like, shattering this fantasized childhood.
Through her works, Nubani tells us about her personal traumas and sufferings, linked to the history of a whole people.
