Inscribed on the back of the mount née Desprez / Mde Constant/ Grandmother of Victor Constant and Mde Constant / née Desprez 1810/ opened in January 1899 / by Jules Plateau. D. 7 cm A student of David, Ponce-Camus worked as a miniaturist at the beginning of his career around 1800. Thereafter he was mainly a painter, exhibiting at the Salon between 1801 and 1831. Attached : THOMASSIN (Active in 1821) Portrait of Fanny Constant, née Hauer Gouache on ivory. Signed and dated lower left Thomassin 1821.
