PANDERMA carpet (Asia Minor), late 19th century Dimensions : 185 x 125cm Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. Two delicate flowered columns stand out on the garnet field, highlighted with flowers, of this mihrab, while supporting the vaults where a polychrome floral composition is suspended, acting as an oil lamp. The orange-coloured vaults are decorated with circular, coral and floret branches. Two reserves with rich decorations of interlacing and multicoloured flowers are placed at each end of the mihrab. The main cream border with a series of multicoloured floral formations is flanked by two polychrome flowery counter-borders and another with small star-shaped parallelepipeds.
