Fine MELAYER carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 194 x 115cm Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton background. On a Prussian blue background with a large central medallion, brick red and crenellated with multiple combs, on the sides in a zigzag pattern, inlaid with polychrome "Herati" motifs. Four original spandrels with stylized fish. Three borders, the main one ivory with geometrically stylized turtle shells.
