First edition printed at 250 copies, numbered 1/243 Sirène du Marais offset, second paper after 7 Japon. Ex. numbered and signed by Adlen on the proof. Well completed with 27 prints including 21 off-text compositions enhanced with hand-colour, justified and signed in pencil by the artist. From 1915 to 1922, Michel Adlen (1898-1980) took painting classes in Vienna where he exhibited for the first time. In 1923, he was in Berlin and participated in several graphic art exhibitions. He then moved to Paris and his work was briefly influenced by Cubism. He took French nationality and from 1929 onwards produced illustrations for various stories and novels. A painter of the Parisian suburbs and the city, Michel Adlen died on January 21, 1980 in his studio.
