Tobsil de Fès
Morocco, 18th century
Hollow dish resting on a pedestal in ceramic decorated with polychrome enamels painted under a white slip with a transparent glaze. A four-petalled flowerette decorates the centre, the sides are covered with stripes and then with an unusual interlacing motif.
H. 8cm. Diameter: 23cm
Note the unusual decoration of this Tobsil. The use of blue-grey and aubergine manganese dates from the 18th century with the use of green and yellow.
