Dalâ'il al-Khayrât - Book of Prayers Copied by Hassan Husseini, a student of Ibrāhīm Ṣidqy Effendi, in 1262H. (=1845-6) Manuscript in Arabic, 96 leaves, calligraphed in very fine "naskh" in black ink on 12 lines per page, in a fivefold black, gold and red frame. The manuscript includes three double-frontispieces illuminated in gold, cobalt blue and pink, with text inscribed in cloudy cartouches. Titles and marginal illuminations also illuminated in blue and gold. The verses are separated by gold lozenges surrounded by black. Asma'a al-Hosna in black and red. Numerous illuminated pages with floral decoration in two shades of gold. Depictions of Mecca and Medina Bound in black morocco with stamped and gilt decoration, consisting of arabesques set in poly-lobed spandrels and mandorles. 15 x 10 cm Al-Jazuli (d. 1465), Dalail al-Khayrat, copied by Hassan Husseini, pupil of Ibrāhīm Ṣidqy Effendi, Ottoman Turkey, 1262 AH./1845 AD. Translation It was transcribed by the servant and sinner, the master Ḥassan Ḥussiny, one of the students of Ibrāhīm Ṣidqy Afandy, May God forgive him, his parents, all those who consult him, Amin, In the year 1262.
