A Turkish capital Brousse Bursa. Paris, E. de Boccard, 1958. 2 vol. large in-4 (text and atlas). Beige half cloth boards for the text, beige half cloth portfolio with flaps for the atlas. 143 figures engraved in the text. The atlas consists of 9 pp., a double-page map and 109 plates (ch. I-CVI of which 3 bis), the last 10 in colour. The city of Brousse (Bursa), in north-western Anatolia, situated at the western end of the Silk Road, was the second capital of the Ottoman Empire, from 1326 to 1366, before losing its status to Andrinople and then to Constantinople. Slight light spotting on the upper board of the text volume. A very good copy.
