Jan van Londerseel - Landscape with Abraham and the three angels / Description: Abraham and the three angels [Genesis 18:2-10]; Abraham on his knees and the angels in left foreground, surrounded by large trees, open landscape with a small bridge and several buildings in right background; after Gillis d'Hondecoeter; 1590-1625. Near bottom right corner: CIVißcher excudit" and "G de Hondecoutre Inventor" and "Joan Londerselius Sculp". / Dimensions: 37,00 x 47,90 cm Good impression with full plate border and original flattened middle fold on wide margined laid paper. Good condition. / Literature: Hollstein / Dutch and Flemish etchings, engravings and woodcuts c.1450-1700.(3. II/II ) --- Jan van Londerseel (1578-1625), Dutch engraver active in Amsterdam and from 1610 in Rotterdam. Father-in-law of Nicolas de Bruyn. Published prints after Jan Brueghel I. --- Gillis Claesz. d'Hondecoeter (1575-1638), Painter of Flemish origin, mainly active in Utrecht and Amsterdam. His father Nicolaes Jansz fled from Antwerp to Delft around 1585. Father of Gijsbert d'Hondecoeter and grandfather of Melchior d'Hondecoeter and Jan Weenix.
