Cornelis Bos (1515-1556) - The entombment / Description: The entombment; within a ruined building with large arches Christ's body is transported on a shroud carried by three men; Mary Magdalene holds Christ's arm and hand; to the left a distraught Mary sits against a wall; after Frans Floris. 1554. Engraving made by: Cornelis Bos. Above in two lines "Autorem vitæ ... feres". Below "Franciscus Floris inventor / Cornelius Bus fecit anno / 1554". / Dimensions: 38,60 x 28,90 cm Good strong impressions on watermarked laid paper in good condition. Trimmed on plate border. The image is complete and several mm larger than the one in the British Museum. No folds or tears, one faded stain on the signature of Franciscus Floris.
