René Boyvin (1525-1580) - la Toison d'or / Description: Engraving from a series made at Fontainebleau by René Boyvin after Léonard Thiry (1500-1550), called ' Livre des la conquête de la Toison d'or par le prince Jason de Thessalie' (Conquest of the Golden Fleece) : Medea, standing in the left foreground, prepares a potion for Aeson, who lies nearby; beyond at right, the temple of Hecate and Hebe; in ornate border. 1563. Engraving. Bottom middle collection stamp of Séchan, Polycarpe Charles (Lugt.2342) Known for his collection of ornamental prints sold in January 1872. / Dimensions: 15,80 x 22,80 cm Excellent intense black impressions on laid paper trimmed just inside the plate border. Without the cartouche with text printed from a separate plate.
