Formerly attributed to Wierix brothers, Flemish. The Collignei fratres. / Description: Collignei fratres formerly attributed to Wierix brothers, Flemish. Portrait of the three Coligny brothers, from left to right Odet de Coligny, Cardinal of Châtillon; Gaspard II de Coligny, Count of Coligny; and François de Coligny, Lord of Andelot. Engraving made in 1550-1570. In good condition. Printed on vey thin laid paper, mounted on another watermarked laid paper. Very strong impression of this rare engraving. Drying middle fold, nearly noticeable. Almost complete, missing a blanc part in the upper right corner, probably in the 16th-17th century when it was mounted on the other laid paper.
