This engraving is part of the "Album Fenaille" or "Album Goupil", a work dedicated to Auguste Rodin's drawings, published in 1897.
It contains a majority of drawings related to Dante's Inferno, which are generally grouped together under the name of "black drawings".
A copy of this precious album can be found in the archives of the Rodin Museum.
