In-12 (152 x 94 mm) with an engraved allegorical frontispiece, 34 ff.n.ch., 1 f.n.ch (warning and engraved portrait of the author), 246, 144 pp. Red morocco, gilt fillets and roulettes, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (18th century binding).

One of two editions of the French translation published in 1649, this copy belonging to the preferred edition according to Brunet, with the body of the work divided into 2 parts. The dedicatory epistle to the Duke of Devonshire does not appear, present only in very few copies.
A fine copy, well bound in the 18th century.
