The last work published by the poet, the collection gathers prose poems, critical essays and occasional writings published in magazines during nearly thirty years.
It deals with the most diverse subjects: Richard Wagner, the Theatre, portraits of Villiers de l'Isle-Adam, Verlaine, Rimbaud, Manet, etc.
As for the Book, it offers the oft-quoted aphorism: "...everything in the world exists in order to lead to a book."
