Attributed to Jean François MILLET (1814/1875). "The faggots collectors". Charcoal and white gouache highlights. 22,5 x 18. Fake posterior monogram in the lower right corner. Our drawing can be compared to a series of studies made by Millet around 1850, in Barbizon, for his painting "Les ramasseurs de fagots", kept in the Art Museum of the Palm Beaches. Two other drawings of the same subject were sold in 1995, one of them with a very similar technique (see anonymous sale, Sotheby's, New York, 1st November 1995, n°34, repr.).
