Pierre-Louis ROUILLARD (1820-1881) Seated Lion Bronze with light brown patina. Signed P. Rouillard on the terrace. Bears the mark of the founder GRUET Jne Feur. H. 23 cm Terrace 16,5 x 8,5 cm Admitted to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1837, Rouillard's career was based on monumental commissions. He is particularly known for the Horse with a Harrow in cast iron executed in 1878 and now kept in the forecourt of the Musée d'Orsay (inv. RF3754).
