Set of 3 large cardboard plates (38.5 x 30.5 cm) featuring 35 laminated photographic prints, 28 portraits of the main protagonists of the Paris Commune period (Gambetta, Thiers, Trochu, Rigault, Courbet, Delescluze etc.), 2 landscapes and 5 views of the ruins of Parisian monuments, with legends and historical notes handwritten in English in brown ink. sl, late 19th century. The last plate is a copy of a first-hand account of Paris in ruins by a certain Rogers or Roger: "Rogers' diary contains full account of his visit and he brought me the photographs which appear in book".
