Osterberger 1577 - Wermke 3318, VD 16, P 4798 and Schottenloher 32719 (both deviating "Landesordnung" on the title). - First edition of the first Prussian Landesordnung, which began the replacement of the previously applicable Kulm law and initiated a development that led from the Land Law for the Duchy of Prussia of 1620 to the General Land Law of 1794. The Land Code was passed on September 27 by Margrave George Frederick of Ansbach, after he had shortly before been given guardianship over the mentally ill Duke Albrecht Frederick of Prussia. - II. Half leather of the 17th century (rubbed). Waterstained, somewhat browned, few marginalia.
