presenting a chief and his companion sitting with their hands and arms in symbolic positions directed towards the sky and the earth. Terracotta, orange-beige, discrete remnant of white chromium, nose ring for the man, hammered gold, cut, pre-Columbian, a few small traces of manganese scattered. Quimbaya, Colombia, 800 to 1800 AD 34 x 26.5 cm 40 x 28 cm Provenance: acquired from Oscar Ramirez by the present owner in December 1995 Condition: for the female statue, damage to the torso and back not exceeding 5% of the overall mass of the work. For the man, the two broken legs stuck, microfissure on the back and missing 3 fingers
