*Scène chamanique de guérison collective

It represents several characters on a circular plateau. In the center, a seated lord; behind him a shaman places his hands on his head, all around the servants seem to be absorbing hallucinogens. Two of them are holding a sea shell and blowing towards the figure to ward off evil influences. In Western Mexico, many shamanic scenes such as this one indicate the use of traditional medicine to heal the body by calling upon invisible forces, such as the wind, sunlight, earth, or fire. Solid brown terracotta with black and red-brown decoration.
