(1st ed.: Galle, 1577) of Ortelius' groundbreaking large folio atlas. Galle was not satisfied with the quality of the maps in the previous editions and therefore replaced ca. 18 maps in this edition. It was intended for travelers and students making it a very successful publication from the 1st ed. onwards.
